What is the Neighbors in Need special offering to be taken on Sunday, October 1 and why do we support it? The offering supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States, including the Council for American Indian Ministries (CAIM), justice and advocacy, and direct service projects supported by Justice and Local Church Ministries. This year’s focus for the offering is on environmental justice. Plastics, electronics, and other non-compostable wastes are being shipped across, and even tossed into, our waterways, launched into space, as well as buried in landfills. As people of faith, we must be better stewards of our planet!
