Worship: Every Sunday at 10:15 am – Summer Worship at 9 am
Sunday School (September – June): The second Sunday of the month during the 10:15 am worship service.
Every Sunday, we gather to worship God through praise, prayer, word, song, meditation and the sacraments. Worship is for the young and the old; those whose faith is solid and those whose faith is shaky; those who are joyful and those who mourn. Wherever you find yourself, come to worship the God who can hold all things.
Our worship is formal but not stuffy; attire is anything from jeans to suits. We follow a liturgy that is printed in the bulletin, so all can follow along and participate. We also offer large print bulletins. Children are especially welcome; there are activity sheets for them, a special Children’s Time and we often have special events that help grab their attention.
We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month as well as on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve.
Special Services
Throughout the year, we gather for special services that mark important days in the Christian calendar. Please note that many of them are not held at our usual worship time.
- Ash Wednesday – 7 pm
We gather with our sister church, Salem UCC, to mark the beginning of Lent.
- Maundy Thursday, Weidner Hall – 6 pm
Beginning with a light meal of soup and bread, we remember Jesus’ last supper by celebrating communion, and end with a Tenebrae service as we journey with Jesus to his death.
- Good Friday – 7 pm
On this holiest and darkest of days, we recall Christ death and await his resurrection as we worship with Salem UCC.
- Easter Sunday
Sunrise, 7 am: Beginning outside, we greet the dawn and the Good News that the tomb is empty! The service continues in the sanctuary with communion.
10:15: Festive and joyful Easter Worship for the whole family!
- Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service – 7pm
On Thanksgiving Eve, we gather with other churches in the Oley Valley to give thanks to God.
- Christmas Eve, December 24
7 pm: Lessons and carols with Holy Communion and candle lighting. Immerse yourself in the story and songs of the season.
